There is no need to worry about driving or finding a parking spot, all you have to do is buckle in and get ready to enjoy your hike!
Diamond Head (Lē‘ahi) is the most famous landmark in Waikiki. Well known for its hiking trail, estimated at 1.6 miles roundtrip, it is a great way to workout while on vacation! Once you reach the top, you will be able to enjoy beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean, Waikiki, and downtown Honolulu. The trail includes 2 stairways with a total of 175 steps and has limited cover, so be prepared for a heavy dose of Hawaiian sunshine. This popular trail is well-kept and can be enjoyed by hikers of all skill levels!
Makapu’u Lighthouse Trail is a roughly 2.5-mile long paved hike (roundtrip) located on the East Coast of Oahu. The trail features beautiful wild flowers that thrive in the dry, arid environment of this area and wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean. In the winter time, this hike attracts whale watchers hoping to catch a glimpse of these wondrous creatures from the ocean cliffs. The hike ends at the historic Makapu’u Lighthouse, which can be seen from the observation decks at the top. This trail is well-maintained and not too steep so it is perfect for beginner level hikers!
