Hawaii Island is the youngest and largest island in the Hawaiian chain and has earned its nickname “Big Island”. Nearly twice as big as all the other Hawaiian Islands combined its sheer size is remarkable and the adventures to be had are endless. You can travel through 10 of the worlds 14 climate zones while visiting. From the geological features at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to the snow-capped heights of Maunakea; from the lush valleys and waterfalls of Hilo and to the jet-black sands of Punaluu Beach, the island of Hawaii is unrivaled in its diversity and beauty. It’s a lot to see but if you have only a day, we got you covered!

    • Kilauea Visitor Center* – park updates & educational displays
    • Steam Vents* – groundwater seeps down to hot volcanic rocks forming steam clouds
    • Thurston Lava Tube* (temporarily closed)
  • Hilo Town, King Kamehameha Statue & Shinmachi Tsunami Memorial
  • Rainbow Falls*
  • Return to Kona via famous Saddle Road (with views of many volcanoes)
