Wailua River Boat Excursion & Enchanted Fern Grotto

Set sail on a comfortable, open-air boat along the Wailua River, Hawaii’s only navigable waterway, for a two-mile tranquil journey towards the magical Fern Grotto. Stroll through a lush rainforest to reach this unique geological formation, where ferns remarkably grow upside down from the grotto’s ceiling. In this amphitheater-like setting, formed by lava rocks and tropical flora, enjoy Hawaiian melodies and hula dances. The river is also a favored spot for various water activities like kayaking and paddleboarding.

Kauai’s North & East Coast Highlights

Our tour showcases the finest beaches, mountains, waterfalls, and sacred Heiaus (ancient Hawaiian spiritual sites) along the East Coast. Highlights include the view of Sleeping Giant from Kapaa Town, the serene Wailua River, mystical Fern Grotto, historic Poliahu Heiau, Hauola City of Refuge, and the majestic Opaeka’a and NaMolokama Waterfalls. Discover the beauty of Kealia Beach, Hanalei Bay, Hanalei Taro Fields, and Anini Beach, along with the charming Northshore areas. Visit the Kilauea Lighthouse and Wildlife Refuge (open Wednesday to Saturday) to spot unique birds like the Layson Albatross and Nene Geese.
